Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors, and entire communities.
The San Antonio Chapter of the Make-A-Wish recently completed its latest Wish. This is a special story about an older boy, Kevin. Kevin is a special guy that unfortuantely suffers from a terminal case of
Pelvic Congestion, a condition that causes young Kev constant pain in his nether region. His younger brother, Patrick, contacted the Make-A-Wish foundation seeking to provide his big brother relief, if only temporarily, for his hero's condition.
"Kevin is everything that I wish I could be, he is really tall, reasonably attractive plus he can grow a beard" said a clearly choked up Patrick. "Ever since he was diagnosed with the Pelvic Congestion, his life has been a constant quest to find the cure.
For months, he would stay out every night closing down the Rev room searching, hoping, waiting, clinging to the minute opportunity that he would find his cure. Please help me Make-A-Wish foundation you are my only hope, please help release my big brothers demons- all that he has ever wanted was to show up at a soccer game with an attractive woman and have her cheer him whether he misses 5 shots or not."
"Kevin wants to be that guy that ignores all his friends that have supported him, to hang out with a girl." "Make-A-Wish please work your magic and get my Kevie a Girlfriend(a skinny attractive one)." Sincerely Patrick Blische aka Sleepless in Saytown
Well today the Make-A-Wish foundation completed its daunting task of temporarily providing a smile to young Kev's face. Glad we could help- this was our most difficult task yet, even more harrowing than getting
sickly Zach his own dinosaur. We have filmed a segment for 60 Minutes and it will air once Alan White retrieves and edits the video he shot from young Kev's bedroom closet.
Game Summary Playing in weather that would make the Viet Cong sweat, the FSFC have a rather large turnout on Father's Day. Alan White, father of a small town in south texas, was able to escape his duties and enjoy the match.
Fading Stars get off to a decent start offensively taking advantage of their superior mudding ability. Fading Stars miss on several early chances and commiting many fouls on both halves. Berryman is on fire, stopping breakaways- wide open players can't beat Berryman.
Jacobs commits a nice foul, briana bounces the ball off of the downed player and little Sergio gives Jacobs the Yellow Card. Briana makes up for it 2 minutes later with a nice hack earning his Yellow Card. More misses, more saves half ends 0-0
Halftime FSFC 0 Peru 0The Stars offense comes out roaring- Kblische sends one wide to #19 who passes it back to little Kev, Kev jukes a defender and shoots- only to have his Make-A-Wish dream shattered by the goalie who makes a nice save. #19 works nicely with Pblische setting up some nice scoring opportunities but once again the keeper makes some nice saves. Defenense is playing well but they make a costly mistake- with a throw in from its corner, Bergman throws the ball to the 18 where the only player there is from Peru- guy takes a dribble and a shot for a goal.
FSFC 0 Peru 1Fading Stars continue the attack to finish out the match- ball gets played in the box where Bodo, Kevie and a defender go after it- KBlische gets the ball after the defender horse collar tackles Bodo- no PK is given, Kev crosses to a wide open Jacobs who heads it right to the keeper.
Briana gets a wide open shot and absolutly crushes nothing leading to a laughing fit for Briana.
Fading Stars get another shot with a corner kick, mayhem ensues as Wink takes out the tall guy, Jacobs takes out two guys and heads the ball while on the ground- Pblische gets the rebound and hits a low screamer that nutmegs #19's baby maker- and finds it way into the net.
FSFC 1 Peru 1With less than 5 minutes left and the score tied, the Stars continue to attack- it culminates with a beautiful pass from Woodard over the defense to #19- #19 stretches as best he could and volleys the ball over the goal- whistle blows game ends in a tie and Berryman can make out with the sister he doesn't have.

Foul of the Game-- Tommy- Not only is Tommy skilled with his handballs, he has the ability to trap the ball, make a pass and have an opponent slide into him and get called for the foul. Well done sir, well done
Goat of the Game-- Bodo- b/c it is summer, he is single and he is German
Goal of the Game-- Pblische- with Wink tackling one player, Jacobs heading the ball with his head while on the ground- Pblische hit one through #19's 5 hole and into the net.
Quote of the Game-- Wink. When asked by young Kevin why he was late to an 11:00 am game, Wink responds "
If you were hitting what I was hitting, you would have been late too." The Make-A-Wish Foundation apologises to young Kev for the rude comment in front of his Christmas Miracle.
